COVID?

What the heck has happened to our lives? What have you been doing for the past 2 1/2 months with all this craziness? Have you been staying home and healthy? Have you ventured out, at least for groceries? What about your pets? Have they been making you crazy with all the pent up energy? Have you been crafting away the day? Have you cleaned your home from top to bottom?

2020 started out fabulous, I was on a roll with going to the gym and really sticking to my Keto program. I even started going to yoga again. Then shortly after my fabulous 15th/60th birthday, all heck broke loose. Yes, I am a Leap Year baby…I had a good birthday, unlike most everyone that has had one in the last 2 1/2 months. I was really looking forward to the Scrapbook Expo event, 3 days of scrapbooking & craft shopping & socializing with my friends, and learning new techniques. Well, that’s a bust, just like a lot of events around the world, it is to be rescheduled.

So what have I been doing? Well, for the first three weeks, I was a slug, yes SLUG…I barely got out of my jammies, watched a lot of TV, Netflix, Prime, and Hulu. I over-ate (only gained 5# thankfully) and just lazed around. Then the mask making became a thing and elastic was suddenly as scarce as toilet paper & Lysol spray! So we improvised in this house and used seam binding to make ties, then that became just as scarce. Now we are ordering elastic by the 100yd bolt online from amazon and waiting weeks for it to be delivered! My hubby and I went to the dog park as often as we could after it opened, it was closed because of all the rain we had. So that took care of the energy our 4-5month old golden-doodle had. She also went to doggy daycare once a week (dog park closes on Wednesdays!)

It’s not like I don’t have a million projects to keep me busy mind you…I just wasn’t motivated those first three weeks. We just stayed in the house other than the dog park & dog walks. I also put off doing my taxes, who hasn’t since they pushed the date out! Well, I am working on them now. I think next year I will have someone else do them for me…such a pain to organize. I still have a million projects to complete, but I did feel very accomplished these past 2 weeks. I planted a garden and set up a micro-irrigation system for it, got all the masks requested completed and mailed, found the vinyl I cut (in camouflage) for my grandson’s bike helmet, cooked almost every night, and got all my birthday cards for April & May done & in the mail, and I got some scrapbooking done.

What haven’t I done? Craft much, Clean the house top to bottom, reorganize my closets, redo the kitchen cabinet liners (I have the stuff), purge everything! It is so overwhelming that I don’t know where to start. The problem being, Yes I started my taxes for this year, I can’t find the file from last year with all my papers in it…I have hunted the entire house, where the heck can it have gone? I find stuff from 2009 and earlier…where did the 2018 tax file go? Is there a black hole I am not aware of in this house? fortunately, I keep a digital copy of the forms, but I really wanted the other papers, because there are some questions I need answered. And this is why I need to go through and do the purge, clean top to bottom, redo the kitchen cabinet liners and reorganize the closets.

After I complete these #$@% taxes, I am going to craft and craft and craft some more. I am going to have a card kit by mail program so you can craft with me. I will put more about that in another post over the next couple of days.

So what have you been doing since the quarantine started?

Keep on crafting, no matter how little!
